While the basic principles of automotive production lines are the same, recent innovations have changed things a bit. Mechanization of tools and parts revolutionized production once, and now it’s happening again. Robots now perform some of the tasks that human autoworkers formerly were asked to perform. Since production line work involves repetitive movements, it’s easy, and sometimes safer, for a robot to take over a role a human used to play. While that unfortunately costs an autoworker a job, it tends to lower production costs, too.

It’s probably safe to say that most of us have seen the old newsreel footage of auto workers building cars in greasy, grimy, dirty factories; however, new automotive production lines have been praised for their clean, light and open architecture. The BMW assembly line in Leipzig, Germany, is a great example of that. The assembly line winds its way through the factory, which is itself a light-filled maze of glass. Everyone who works there — from the executives to the cleaning staff — can look into the production line and see the heart of the company: its cars.

The Aspid Sports car will be unveiled at the British Motor Show which commences in July. Aspid is the result of a 5-year development program by IFR Automotive. The 2-Seater model is similar to Caterham R500 with a difference that Aspid actually has a roof. Aspid has a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine producing 270 hp or 400 hp with a turbocharged version. Aspid wieghs only 700 kg and has the power-to-weight ratio of 1.75 kg/bhp. The car completes the sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and from 0-100 mph in just 5.9 seconds. The performance stats are very impressive. The maximum speed however is restricted to 155 mph.

There came the dawn of change in transport systems around the world and the start of the automotive industry. In succeeding, people accepted this ground-breaking concept and made the industry a growing one. It was because they found automobiles efficient for daily use and for long distance trips. Slowly, one company emerged after another because they saw opportunities to profit with more and more people buying cars. It was no longer a luxury but rather a necessity. Competition came so there arose a need for automotive marketing promotions for one company to compete against the others.

Competition sometimes can be tricky and this is why automotive marketing promotion strategies were developed and introduced. Today, it is noted that that there has been a great decrease in selling cars. This is why manufacturers do promotions in order to increase sales. Newspapers are a traditional way of promoting business. Nevertheless, car dealers continue to do marketing promotions through other ways such as in social networking sites. They find ways to get people’s attention with what they are offering and what services are available. Experimentation is also being done to come up with more original ideas.

When concentrating on individualized promotions, they sometimes send direct emails. What they do is personalize their notes instead of send generic ones. The content basically offers customers what they can afford. Another way to market an automotive business is by giving incentives to employees and customers. At this point, they start social networking and try to create a good reputation to the company through word of mouth.

Branding products is also an automobile marketing promotion strategy. Branding means making the company stand out from both direct and indirect competition. In the store, they can have a mascot that creates an impression that they welcome anyone who needs their products. Trade-in is also an effective technique aimed at bringing back old customers. Since car models become obsolete, then people would always consider buying a new one. Customers are attracted to trade-in schemes because they will be able to save money while owning a new car.

It is important for all automotive marketers to realize that they have to stay open to new strategies that they may use to increase their sales. After all, cars are no cheap items to sell. This means they have to be able to build rapport and trust with people who could be customers. Social networking is a very popular way of doing this and every automotive seller should be willing to explore this as a sales-boosting technique.
